The Akatsuki, meaning “Dawn” or “Daybreak,” was a group of rogue ninja led by Nagato with Obito as his secret ally, originally founded by Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan. While claiming to seek world peace through capturing the nine Tailed Beasts, their true aim was Obito’s “Eye of the Moon Plan” to trap all life in an illusion. Comprising S-class criminals, they became major antagonists in Naruto Part II, capturing Gaara and other Tailed Beasts.
